Architectural Digest: Museum Quality
For my first Architectural Digest story, I interviewed celebrated British architect Thomas Heatherwick when he was in Cape Town last month. He’s the mind behind the design of one of Africa’s most ambitious architectural projects at the moment: the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, which is scheduled to be completed late next year. Read more about it here.
Conde Nast Traveler: Cape Town and Sydney
Sydney’s Chippendale district is booming, with a spate of hip new restaurants and a shiny new hotel — I reported on it in the June issue of Conde Nast Traveler (US).
And over on the website, I have a story on six essential Cape Town souvenirs — from bags to biltong. Made Here, Buy Here: What You Can’t Leave Cape Town Without.
Bon Appetit: Eat, Drink, and Garden Your Heart Out at Babylonstoren
Babylonstoren is one of my favorite places in South Africa, so I’m thrilled that my first piece for the foodie bible Bon Appetit is a beautifully shot spread on the farm resort in the Winelands, complete with mouthwatering recipes. It’s in the May travel issue, but you can read it here.
Robb Report: Pink Palace
I wrote about the opening of the Four Seasons Westcliff hotel in Johannesburg for the April issue of Robb Report – my first piece for the luxury bible. Sadly they typo’d my name. Bummer.
Conde Nast Traveller UK: Where to Stay in Cape Town
The April issue of Conde Nast Traveller UK has a roundup of Cape Town boutique hotels, and I contributed two writeups: one on the trendy Camps Bay property the Marly, and another on the leafy La Grenadine in the heart of town. Read it here.
Vogue India and Miss Vogue
Two new stories in India this month. I’m part of Vogue India’s mega travel package in the April issue, with a piece on surfing in Buzios.
And the brand-new Miss Vogue, targeted to younger readers, also launched this month, and in it I have a fun travel roundup targeted toward girls planning their summer trips.
