A habit that’s become a fixture of all my travels without my even realizing it is my tendency to seek out mosques in every place I visit. Whether I’m in Buenos Aires, Paris, Madrid, Colombo, Nashville, or an island in Mozambique, I try to take a few minutes out of my hectic schedule to pray at the area’s most prominent masjid. It’s something I do without even thinking too much about, so when my editor at Condé Nast Traveler reached out to me to write about it, I was surprised to look at this habit of mine as a story idea. But I’m glad he encouraged me to explore it, because it’s become a very enriching part of my travels. Read it here.
