Condé Nast Traveler just published a wonderful package celebrating the best of American road trips, from an ode to a gas station to the best stays on Route 66. I had a small contribution to their road trip road map of memorable stops to weave in to your own cross-country adventure – on a trip to Memphis six years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting the Palestinian-American owner of local BBQ institution Tom’s, and he left a lasting impression.
