The South Asian Journalists Association has been an important part of my career since the very beginning, and I was honored to be asked to moderate the keynote panel of SAJA’s 2021 Awards Night, “Hope and Resiliency in Journalism,” with a powerhouse panel of South Asian women in journalism: Swati Sharma, editor in chief of Vox; Geeta Anand, dean of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, and Versha Sharma, editor in chief of Teen Vogue. I was also thrilled to win an award in the category “Outstanding Arts and Culture Reporting” for my feature “Zanzibar in the Rain” from the New York Times. You can watch the panel here.
