Great article in the WSJ. I have enjoyed the content as well as your writing style. While my background is less colorful than yours, your article reminded me of my own experience including the immigration interview as well as numerous other experiences in my twenty years in US. With all the cultural diversity in US, the word nationality is still commonly interpreted as ethnicity especially if one has, like I do, a non-American accent. It is quite entertaining to introduce myself as an American, and watch the suppressed reactions! I am off to enjoy the vegetarian version of tandoori turkey at my aunt's house tomorrow:) Hi Sarah!
